Sitting with the Sky is an evening Forest Therapy session, at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, that invites you on quiet journey of meeting and noticing. Along the way, we'll be greeted by trees of many kinds, each with its own shape, texture and way of reaching for the evening light. Spend time with these nature beings, and perhaps notice how they lean, breathe or hold space around them. Our steps will eventually lead us to an open space, where the sky stretches wide above us. Here, you're invited to rest your gaze upon the white clouds and blue sky, dressed in the day's evening hues.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens was chosen for Sitting with the Sky because of the presence of its heritage trees. These mature trees carry a quiet steadiness about them. They stand with a kind of grounded dignity, offering shade, scale and comfort simply by being. Along our route, many of these trees rise like mother trees - large, rooted and expansive, as if holding and nourishing the younger trees around them. Their presence feels reassuring, almost protective, and this Forest Therapy session is intentionally shaped to lean into that sense of being held.

The Singapore Botanic Gardens also has wide lawns where the sky stretches uninterrupted. There, you are invited to wander, to find our own patch of grass, to lie down if you wish, and to meet the evening light in a way that feels true to you. Whether it is curiosity, stillness, or simply a gentle exhale, there is space here to remember that part of you.

Begin Your Connection
with Nature

It is completely alright to feel unsure.

Forest therapy is a gentle nature based sensory practice designed to help you slow down, notice, and reconnect with nature and with yourself. It is not a hike, a workshop, or something you need to perform well in. No prior experience is needed, and there is no right way to participate.

Through simple invitations, you are guided to slow down and notice with your senses. You choose how you engage with the invitations. You can speak, or remain quiet. You can move slowly, or simply sit. You simply arrive as you are, and allow nature to meet you as you are.

If you are unsure whether Forest Therapy is for you
